Environmental impact assessments

We analyze project assumptions to determine the need for environmental decisions for projects that may significantly affect the environment. We provide substantive support at every stage of obtaining the decision, including appeals before competent authorities. We also review proposed changes to already issued environmental decisions.

Commissioning and operational launch

We assist with both planning and launching installations, ensuring compliance with all reporting duties to environmental regulators.

Environmental permits and licenses

We identify required environmental permits and licenses (integrated, sectoral, waste management). We provide support at every stage of obtaining them and in fulfilling the rights and obligations arising from them.

SEVESO

We offer legal advisory related to classifying a facility as one with increased/high risk of major industrial accidents. We assist in identifying and implementing obligations related to such classification – including facility registration and submission of a major accident prevention program.

Environmental inspections (WIOŚ)

We provide support during inspections by Environmental Protection Inspectors (before production starts and during facility operation). We offer ongoing legal advice to ensure investment compliance with environmental requirements and assist in communication with inspectors and in preparing inspection reports.

Registers

We identify registration obligations related to environmental protection (e.g., BDO, KOBIZE, CRO, ECHA). We assist in obtaining entries in these registers and fulfilling reporting obligations.

CBAM and EUTR/EDR

We support European businesses in identifying and implementing CBAM and EUTR/EUDR obligations. We assist in preparing and submitting quarterly CBAM reports, calculating embedded emissions in imported goods, and liaising with suppliers and operators from third countries. We also submit reports on behalf of our clients. In addition, we offer hands-on training so your team can confidently handle quarterly reporting on their own. We help fulfill EUTR/EUDR obligations, including obtaining/transmitting information and implementing EUTR/EUDR due diligence systems within the company.

Administrative proceedings

In environmental matters, we effectively represent our clients’ interests in proceedings before public administration authorities, provincial administrative courts, the Supreme Administrative Court, and common courts.

Comprehensive Environmental Audits

We identify obligations and ensure the implementation of compliance in the use of environmental resources. We also analyze the overall compliance of business activities.

REACH

We provide advice on identifying the need for registration, as well as on the assessment and registration of chemical substances. We also support the preparation of safety data sheets and the communication of relevant information throughout the supply chain. Additionally, we assist in fulfilling obligations related to the production, import, and further distribution of chemical substances and mixtures.

Emissions and ETS

We help determine whether a facility’s operations fall under specific CO₂ emissions trading regulations. We identify and assist in implementing obligations related to emissions resulting from the facility’s activities, including obtaining the necessary permits.

Water and wastewater

We provide comprehensive support in matters related to wastewater management, water resource usage, and collective water supply and sewage disposal.

Waste

We offer comprehensive legal advisory in waste management, including identifying and fulfilling obligations such as obtaining appropriate permits or licenses, maintaining records in BDO, and drafting waste-related contracts.

Packaging

We assist in all matters related to products in packaging and packaging itself, including proper labeling, recordkeeping, reporting, and handling packaging waste – including within deposit systems.

Batteries and accumulators

We provide support in placing batteries and accumulators on the market, their further management, and recovery.

Electrical and electronic equipment

We offer end-to-end support for placing electrical and electronic equipment on the market, as well as for its ongoing management. Our expertise also covers the handling and processing of waste derived from such equipment.

Products

We support the identification and fulfillment of obligations related to placing products on the Polish market, including oils and lubricants, tires, and fluorinated greenhouse gases. We also advise on products subject to CBAM or EUTR/EUDR and other products whose introduction involves environmental obligations.

Contracts

Considering the specifics of environmental law, we draft and review contracts related to all areas of activity that impact environmental elements, supporting many of our clients in this regard.

EHS

We advise on broadly understood occupational health and safety and analyze project parameters for compliance with guidelines.

Real estate

We functionally integrate expertise in environmental and real estate law, enabling us to identify potential constraints on property use at the site selection stage. This allows us to assess and address legal risks early on and properly prepare the land for investment—such as securing permits for tree and shrub removal or obtaining derogation decisions.

Corrective actions

For clients who have not fulfilled environmental obligations, we prepare a comprehensive corrective model. We support its implementation and take actions to mitigate or eliminate the negative consequences of past practices.

Monitoring legal changes

We continuously observe trends and participate in shaping them, as well as monitor legal changes and inform our clients. We stay up to date through a team of specialists from various legal fields, creating a comprehensive service for our clients under the umbrella of “sustainable development.”

We advised a chemical company on PPWR and CLP regulations

We completed a project that included analysis of two EU regulations – on packaging and packaging waste (PPWR) and on classification, labeling, and packaging of substances and mixtures (CLP). We prepared detailed reports outlining the impact of these regulations on the client’s operations and developed recommendations for adapting business processes to upcoming requirements. Our actions enabled the client to prepare in advance for legislative changes and minimize risks associated with their implementation.

We advised a transformer manufacturer on EUTR and EUDR compliance

We provided legal support to a transformer manufacturer regarding obligations under the EU Timber Regulation (EUTR) and the Regulation on placing and exporting certain goods and products associated with deforestation and forest degradation (EUDR).

We analyzed supply chains of components containing wood and its derivatives, verified due diligence obligations, and assessed documentation related to material origin. We developed compliance procedures with EU regulations, including internal control systems. We provided guidelines for the purchasing department, enabling the client to prepare for upcoming legislative changes and reduce sanction-related risks.

We provide legal services to groups involved in waste collection and processing

We provided comprehensive legal services in the form of strategic and ongoing advisory for a group operating in the waste collection and processing sector. Our support included:

audit of compliance with environmental law across group companies,
support in resolving legal matters, including assistance in dealings with administrative and regulatory authorities,
support in cooperation with contractors, including drafting contracts related to waste import,
legal representation in disputes before civil courts and the Supreme Administrative Court, including cases related to international waste transport,
clarifying the legal status of transmission and production infrastructure, including end-of-waste procedures and other related issues.

We advised a chemical manufacturer on a new investment

We provided comprehensive legal advisory in environmental protection for a new investment by a chemical manufacturer in the automotive industry. As part of the advisory for opening the production plant, we prepared a list of all environmental obligations the new company would need to fulfill. We also advised on obtaining the environmental decision and provided legal support regarding REACH and the import of goods covered by CBAM.

We provieded support for implementing a deposit system for a discount retail chain

We provided assistance regarding historical land contamination.

We conducted a detailed assessment of the legal status of properties affected by historical contamination and determined the scope of liability for landholders. We reviewed environmental documentation, prepared legal opinions on remediation obligations, and developed a strategy to reduce financial risks for investors. Our actions also included representing clients in dealings with administrative authorities and preparing legal submissions, ensuring effective protection of their interests.

We advised on the transport and processing of electronic waste

We identified of BDO registration obligations for a foreign entity

We conducted an analysis of registration obligations for a group of entrepreneurs introducing goods to the Polish market. We assessed distribution models, product flow characteristics, and packaging types. We determined whether the clients’ operations required BDO registration. The result of the project was the development of practical recommendations and implementation of procedures compliant with applicable regulations.

We train clients and lecture on environmental law at universities

We regularly share knowledge in the field of environmental law to raise awareness among entrepreneurs and enable them to take appropriate action. We conduct workshops covering key topics in environmental law – examples of our training sessions include:

“Unpacking BDO”,
“Managing packaging and waste in Poland and Germany”,
“A wave of changes in water law and environmental protection”.

We also fulfill our educational mission through active participation in university programs. We have lectured, among others, in the Postgraduate Studies in Chemical Safety Management conducted by the Faculty of Law, Administration and Economics at the University of Wrocław, and in the academic year 2025/2026, we are teaching an environmental protection elective at the Faculty of Law at SWPS University.
